The Brief
This 500-guest wedding at The Brewery in Moorgate came to us through an existing relationship — we'd already DJed two parties for the groom's cousin, including a number of private events for that cousin's own networking group. By the time this wedding came around, we were already a known and trusted name within the extended family.
The couple wanted a genuine fusion of both sides of the family: a touch of Indian wedding music, capped at around half an hour, balanced against a similar half-hour of Irish wedding music, with a live band playing a soul, disco and funk set in between. Run alongside the DJ sets, the whole entertainment programme came in at a tight two and a half hours — short, but carefully paced so both traditions were represented without either side feeling like an afterthought.
Our Approach
The Brewery has its own in-house technical team, and we already knew their sound engineer well from working across London's event venues — he looked after the set-up throughout the night, and the band's soul, disco and funk set worked well alongside our DJ sets either side of it. It's the kind of easygoing, well-run wedding that comes from already knowing the room and the people running it.
The Result
The night led to more than a happy couple. Another DJ playing at the wedding heard our set and recommended us on to another venue, which we now work with as a regular supplier. The wedding itself also led directly to a second wedding booking from within the same guest list, and to an ongoing DJ residency at a well-known venue in London Bridge that we've now held for over a year and a half. One easygoing, well-connected fusion wedding at The Brewery turned into three separate ongoing bookings — proof that a genuinely fusion wedding DJ hire booking, done well, tends to travel by word of mouth.
